Every day, I am surrounded by the most amazing students! Even though they come from a variety of backgrounds, including race, religion, and family structure, we all work together to create a unique learning experience. We work hard at instilling a love of learning and exploring that will last a lifetime.

My Project
When students have undergone a traumatic event, they may not be able to find the words to express themselves. Whether it be how they feel, what they need, or simply to ask for help - the words just might not be there.
However, children can say so much through their artwork.
They can tell someone how they are feeling as they draw a picture with crayons. They can ask for help or draw what they need. They can encourage a peer by creating a pop-up card.
As my students come back to the classroom, I want them to know they are in a safe environment to express themselves. I want to have materials on hand so they can draw with pencils, color with crayons, and have a variety of colors to cut and paste and create a collage. I want them to know they have a voice, and whether or not they know what to say, their hearts can be heard through their artistic expressions. I want them to know that no matter what has happened, they can still imagine, create, and inspire those around them.
