Imaginative Play With Puppets- Creating Social Situations and Exciting Adventures
Help me give my students the gift of imaginative play by providing them with puppets so they can creatively play, role play social situations, and craft adventures all while staying in our classroom.
First and foremost, my students are learners. They always strive to do their best. For a few, their best is getting 100% on their math test or helping a peer who is having a hard time. For others, their best is focusing when they feel distracted or making it through the classroom door first thing in the morning without incident. Learning comes easily for some while others may struggle. Students are continuously improving their academics but for many, the focus is on how to resolve social conflicts with peers.
Their backgrounds are very different but they all show determination to grow whether it be academically, socially, or emotionally.
Their efforts make proud and their determination to never give up in challenging situations would be an inspiration to many adults.
My Project
The puppets that I am requesting for my students are the tools in which creativity and imagination will come alive in my classroom.
I need your help with providing my students the opportunity to creatively play, problem solve social situations, and create adventures through the use of puppets.
The puppets will be used in a variety of ways. Students will have them available to role play during inside recess. This is where they are free to use them and can create characters and stories. We will also use them for storytelling during literacy. They will add life to our read alouds and voices to the characters (with a little help from the teacher). One of the most exciting parts to having the puppets is to help solve social conflicts and/or to solve social situations that may affects the whole group.
The donations to this puppets project will help stimulate imagination, encourage creativity, improve motor skills, boost confidence, increase group participation, and promote social problem solving. By implementing puppets into the classroom, my students will begin to see themselves as confident problem solvers, readers, writers, and storytellers.
