This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We love to create! Unfortunately, supplies for expressing my students' growing imagination are not easy to come by. I have a very artistic group of first graders this year, and they love expressing their ideas during our writer's workshop time. "Mrs. Bartilotta, can we draw a picture to go with it? Can we make a craft with some fun materials?" are often questions that I am asked this year. Being able to provide my students with the materials I am requesting would bring them so much joy and allow them to express themselves through art to match their writing.

First-grade imaginations are so inspiring!

I am asking for help in allowing them to create using construction paper, googly eyes, and pipe cleaners to enhance their projects. I believe we have some future artists and authors in our room! With the help of generous donors, my students will be given opportunities otherwise not presented to them. The seeds of creativity have been planted. I want to help them grow.
