I have an amazing first grade group this year! They are learning to care about each other and help each other on a daily basis. They really want to do well and grow as learners. They are also learning to develop a growth mindset.
I am so proud of how responsible they are becoming in such a short time.
Since this is the beginning of a new year, my students are learning how to be in charge of their own learning.
Each day I cannot wait to see them and watch them grow!
My Project
Every week my students get an opportunity to engage in our classroom STEM center. At this center, students design, engineer, test and use their imagination to complete STEM tasks.
Each project is designed to solve a problem.
By using hands-on, creative materials such as K'Nex, LEGOs, and Magnetic tiles my students will be challenged to design amazing solutions!
Not only will my students be strengthening their problem solving skills, but will be engaged in math, science and language arts. Many of the tasks are centered around stories we have read in class. The Story Tales LEGOs set goes beautifully with this as well.
I can't wait to see my students use these wonderful materials to build life long skills!
