I teach 5th grade math to a diverse culture of students from so many backgrounds. They come from a small town that doesn't get as many chances to explore outside of their small town. My students love to read and are very creative. They take what they can from books to explore the world about places and things they have never had the opportunity to experience for themselves. I would like to continue to open their imagination further than they have ever dreamed of.
This project will bring excitement and supplies into the classroom. The students love to work out problems on white boards and so we always seem to run out of Expo markers and cleaner. The students also would like to add games to play during indoor recess. This would get them to interact more with each other than playing games on laptops.
Also, through out the year I try to add books to our library that will spark the interest of the students.
Many of the students enjoy reading Dog Man and have been asking me to add this to our classroom library. This would be a nice start to the collection and the students will be so excited and appreciate it.
