My Students

Comfy reading chairs help keep kids engaged in reading. Libraries and coffee cafes keep patrons on the spot with soft seating that encourages spending time. Want to read in a hard straight-backed chair? Neither do kids who like to wiggle and squirm through the twists and turns of a book plot!

Our middle school in Missouri was ravaged by an EF5 tornado on May 22, 2011.

Not only did many of my students lose homes and possessions they also lost their school. Our school library before the tornado was a warm, friendly, and engaging place for students to spend time making new friends among their peers and losing themselves in great literature. One of the favorite spots in the media center were the big spinning barrel chairs just perfect for curling up with a new book. Developing a great casual reading space in our media center is critical to welcome students to their new school facility by helping kids reconnect with their friends and wonderful books.

My Project

The Back Jack seating will allow students to read/study in collaboration or to move seating to small groups for projects/study. Students can also move seating to more quiet reading nooks of the media center where quiet distraction-free zones are sometimes needed.

Let's help kids succeed with a fun reading environment. Engaging kids with a great literature rich environment and in fun surroundings invites kids to let their imaginations run wild with great books.
