Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My children are amazing little five and six years old people. They are working hard and so are their parents. They are eagerly seeking a bright future. These parents are working full time plus jobs and still struggling to make ends meet. We are located in a low economic area, 100% free lunches as well as total dependence on the State and Federal Food Program, for food in their family homes. They are eager to learn, but their tummies are growling and they are thinking about food, not sight words.
My Project
My Kindergarten children are hungry and tired. They don't have energy to learn because their tummies hurt, from not eating. Many of the children aren't eating breakfast and not getting to school in time to eat the school breakfast.
I would like to have some items available for children to take home in an emergency .
I have had children come to me, saying they didn't have food at home. These food bags would get children
through the night until other provisions can be made.
We would be very grateful for any help, to get food in the hands of our precious kindergarten children. Full tummies allow for full learning potential.
