Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Wow, I feel like a real artist!"... comments a third grade student while painting with acrylics on canvas.
In the coming school year, I will once again teach third grade magnet students.
If they are anything like my previous classes, my students will be creative, enthusiastic, energetic, and enjoy a hands-on approach to learning. Our magnet program encourages children to use their imagination and think outside the box. They attend a Title 1 school in a low income area, and the entire school is on a government-funded free breakfast and lunch program.
My Project
With the generous support from donors like you, I have been able to enhance my visual arts program 200%! Once again, I am requesting art canvases, acrylic paints, paintbrushes, and easels so my students can paint like "real" artists. Through the use of a power point, I will give a lesson on painting with acrylics. Then I will play classical music and my little artists will use their creativity to paint their masterpieces.
For most of my students, this will be their first time seeing or touching canvas.
What a great experience for them to paint like professional artists utilizing acrylics, professional brushes, canvas, and easels!
