Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our low-income school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. A good majority of my students come from single-family homes, and the only place that is consistent for some of them is the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I like to provide my students with a variety of materials to help them succeed.
My Project
My students need games and activities that focus on the phonemic awareness and phonics that came be utilized while the teacher is working one on one with other students in the class. The products are designed to help the student masters the concept being taught.
My students need to have many opportunities to hear words and text, since a lot of them are English Language Learners.
By using these products students will be exposed to lots of new words that they haven't heard before.
Students can also use these products within a small group. Research shows that small group instruction is a proficient way to teach in an elementary classroom.
