Help me give my students a way to express themselves through art activities. I want my students to be able to work on writing stories and being able to illustrate them with colored paper and crayons.
My students have been through a lot in the past year and a half with Hurricane Harvey. Due to the loss to school time, they are a little below grade level.
My students come from low income families.
Many are living in apartments with other family members and don't have a good support system at home for many reasons.
Many of my students lost their personal belongings because of the flood, like books, toys, and clothes. They are really sweet children and try to do their best every day.
My Project
The clipboards will allow my students to travel around the room and outside to get ideas for writing their stories. The crayons and pencils will help them complete this activity.
My students love colored paper; they make book covers for their stories and share them with each other.
I want to ensure my students have a love of writing and reading. I want them to know their words have power and build their self-esteem.
My students come from low income families, and they cannot afford this supplies on their own. I want them to feel pride in all they do.
