My students persevere, do their best, and take pride in their education. Most come from low income, first generation proud immigrant families. They are dedicated to their education because they know and appreciate the daily sacrifices their parents make for them. To them, school is exciting, something to celebrate, and they are grateful to come every day.
At our Title I school, most of my students receive and deserve some financial assistance to help their families make ends meet.
Half of my students have free or reduced priced meals and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the school five days a week. They each deserve to have hands on materials to help them practice important reading skills
My projector has broken and my low income school lacks funds to replace it. A new projector will change the education of my students by providing visual access to their curriculum, learning videos, and to review class and project assignments together on a larger screen for all to clearly see. Technology makes learning more accessible, engaging and relatable. This whole class visual connection to the lessons will help to excite and engage the way first graders should feel at school. This projector will allow me to create spelling word slide shows, give me a chance to show the students very helpful Youtube learning videos that help to illuminate their learning.
