My students are wonderful, hard working, eager to learn kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online due to the lack of technology available in their home.
Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home which isn’t always on their independent levels. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.
My Project
Distance learning is so different from regular school. I miss my students and I can’t wait to see them in the fall! Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, I don’t know how much time I’ll have with them in my physical classroom or will have to be meeting with them through my virtual classroom.
I am requesting iPads with protective cases for each one of my students.
With each student having their own iPad, I will be able to train them to properly use and complete assignments using Google Classroom, along with SeeSaw. So if, or when, we have to stay at home, the transition will be easier on students and parents, to be able to successfully complete and return assignments at home.
