"We don't spend time wasting time because there is room at the top for us!" This is my class' motto. I believe that in order to reach the top teachers need creative and inspiring ways to enhance student learning. Our class is in need of an iPad and keyboard.
I am a third grade teacher in a small community in Oklahoma.
My school houses Pre-K through 5th grade. Most of the students in my school are high poverty and on free and reduced lunches. Our class wrote a creed that says, "Going to college is not an option, it's our goal." We are setting our goals high and working hard to achieve them. I want to do all I can to inspire them.
My Project
Technology has changed the way teachers present information and how students interact with the information being taught. The generation of children I teach have grown up with computers, cell phones, iPods, and other technology. It is a constant challenge to maintain students attention and even more of a challenge to stay up to date with technology. By the time schools can afford to put the newest technology in the classroom, the technology is outdated or been replaced by something newer. My students will use the iPad and keyboard for keyboarding practice, math and reading skills, classroom projects, and research.
