Help me give my students an iPad device, a protective case, and insurance on the ipad (little ones can be rough with technology) to create more experiences in my classroom!
As a first grade teacher in a Title l Public School, I teach because I want my students to see that there are many areas they can excel in. The look of wonder and excitement I see on their faces when they learn something new IS the reason I teach.
Our school is founded on the ideals of leadership and responsibility.
We focus on transforming our students into leaders. My school community is dedicated to help the students reach their individual goals by allowing them to meet their highest potential. Our main priority is to guide our students to become successful, goal oriented, and independent individuals.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad for the classroom. My school has been funded for teaching Computer Science in all grade levels. I often bring my own laptop or borrow an iPad from someone so I can use it when I am modeling how the students should be using the technology. All subject areas can benefit from engaging technology assignments. Connecting my iPad to the projector, I am able to share learning videos, music and much more with my entire class. I am able to model for the students on the device. We have recently begun to use QR Codes in our classroom; an iPad would allow us to use this type of technology even more. Having a dedicated classroom iPad would allow me to model and provide my students with engaging experiences that they need. Building the foundation skills for computer science classes will shape the future of the students in my classroom.
By giving my students an early start with technology, they will be better prepared as they move throughout the grades with the knowledge they need to receive the full benefits tablets, computers, and technology in general has to offer.
The iPad will become a tool that will help create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom as well as build twenty first century skills that our children need in order to be successful in a quickly evolving technical world.
