Our school is located in Victoria, Texas. Victoria was hit by Hurricane Harvey in September of 2017. Our school had significant damage and renovations have recently been completed on our campus. In the year since the hurricane, our teachers have come together to make our school a family.
Our students have risen above the challenges of a city in clean-up mode, as many of their homes are still, over a year out, in need of repairs, and are dedicated to learning.
We are a diverse campus with passionate teachers that serve students who are economically disadvantaged, at risk, special needs, and twenty-first-century learners. We are a Title I school where most of our students receive free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch.
My students are familiar with technology and love to get to use the class tablets.
My students use the technology I already have, daily, in the classroom, right now they share with a group of 4-5.
This additional iPad will help them to more easily access the programs that my district provides.
Many students in my class have not had many experiences with technology. Having iPads in the classroom will open up endless possibilities that this new era of technology has to offer. The ability to have technology at your fingertips has limitless possibilities.
With your help, we can offer these students a glimpse into all that technology has to offer.
