My Students

Our K-2 school in North Carolina has about 400 fantastically diverse students. My second grade students come from many different home situations, some speak more than one language, some have never left their hometown while others have traveled across the United States, some will eat a hearty dinner tonight while others will go to bed hungry. Despite their differences, this diverse group of children has come together to be a family this year and to support each other in their learning!

My Project

I am so excited about the possibility of bringing an iPad into my classroom to share with my second graders!

My students will be able to use this iPad in a variety of ways.

They can use it in small groups or individually. My students will use the app Seesaw to create a digital portfolio that can instantly be shared with their parents/guardians. This is a great way to keep parents informed! Students will learn to become better speakers through voice recording explaining their learning.

The iPad will enhance my students' overall technology skills! They can learn about app smashing, coding, and gain 21 century skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
