My students need iPads that will encourage student-directed learning while being used for independent practice in addition to assessment of the skills.
We are a Title 1 school with 74% free and reduced lunch. We are fortunate for our school to be in a neighborhood and that our parents are very involved in our school. Our school creates lots of activity nights to engage parent involvement. The best part of a child's day may be at school, so I want my classroom to be a positive environment that is welcoming, inviting, and homey. Most of our children are economically and technologically challenged, but they are hard workers and love to learn!
My Project
Many of my students are lacking technology at home, so they don't always have the opportunity to learn through technology. Technology really boosts their desire for learning! iPads will be used during station rotation learning times. Students will be able to access pre-planned math and science related apps during class that pertain to the focus standard for learning each day. These amazing learning tools will foster additional learning of the standard all while being flexible to cater to and reach each student with their varied learning styles.

I love the capability that apps offer to give immediate feedback on student work to aid in future mastery of the skills. Some of the apps I plan on using are Chatterpix, Adobe Spark, Sumdog, Prodigy, Sushi Monster, and many more!
