Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright, fun loving kids. They enter my classroom eager, full of energy, and ready to learn. They love using technology to learn, but don't often get the chance to interact with tablets, smart phones, or computers.

I teach at a school that is 100% free and reduced lunch.

My students qualify for and are in need of the backpack food program. Most of my students are being cared for by grandparents on fixed incomes or come from single parent homes. My class is 98% English Language Learners.

My Project

An iPad will make a significant difference in my students' lives by letting them interact with a technology tool they would not have an opportunity to use at home. It would allow me to break the language barrier in a comfortable, fun, engaging environment.

This iPad will allow my students to have access to apps that they can use to reinforce the learning of letter sounds, audio books in English and Spanish with the written text, practice Math concepts through engaging lessons, and STEM activities such as 3D building and modeling.

An iPad will give my students an opportunity to work independently, which will build self-confidence and pride in their developing skills.
