I have a great class that consists of great readers, strong writers, wonderful artists, determined mathematicians, energized athletes and brave scientists. Fifteen of these students are 3rd graders and 13 of them are 4th graders. All of them are eager to learn and excited about technology.
I have a very enthusiastic group of 3rd and 4th grade students.
Each day I challenge them to keep growing to become more caring and thoughtful kids than they were the day before. My students are learning to work together and meet the challenging demands of new standards. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home. I am hoping to give them opportunities at school to engage in rigorous learning with the use of an iPad. Technology skills are crucial for the success of their future. I know that my students will greatly benefit from the support of an iPad.
My Project
iPads give students the ability to learn with engaging games and apps that address their specific areas of need. I will be using the iPad to engage students in math, reading, writing, science and social studies. With two different grades in my class, I will be addressing many different skills at the same time. The iPad is a great additional resource to help differentiate my instruction for each student. I am very excited about the different apps that actively engage students in learning. It brings an audio, visual and tactical aspect to learning. Each student learns differently and this gives students one more opportunity to understand and put their learning into application.
Having an iPad in our class will help increase motivation as well as engagement in learning.
I know my students will be more successful and prepared for their future if they have the opportunity to make meaningful learning connections with an iPad.
