Students love hearing the sound whenever I click on an icon for positive behavior and they straighten up whenever they hear the "ding" that they get when they are not making good choices. What if I can make this a part of their behavioral supports in class on a daily basis?
Behavior can make a major impact on my students' learning.
With mild to moderate disabilities, my students require so much stimuli in various forms, most of which is through technology.
Most of my students come from low income families. Our school is a very nurturing place to be, where students are held accountable for their education and behavioral choices.
My Project
We need an iPad mini and a protective case. Students will use the iPad to manage their learning independently during stations and small-group in Math and in other subject areas. Behavioral supports will also be incorporated using an app that will be installed on the iPad to help monitor, manage and modify student behavior.
It is my goal to create a classroom that is conducive to learning.
With positive behavioral supports through the use of an iPad app, this task will become easier. Student accountability will bolster skill acquisition in any subject area, as students manage and self-regulate their learning and behavioral choices. When my students are able to practice these self-managing skills, they will be able to cope better with whatever a school day requires them to do.
