Mrs. Kraften from Atlanta GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPad to build technology skills and create products that showcase their learning. We also need a case to keep our iPad at its best.

In our Challenge classroom, students get to develop wonderful skills through learning units. They experiment, discuss, extend and share. They need a way to share that learning with their friends, families and community.
Our school is a small, urban school in the heart of our community.
We serve students from different types of families, diverse backgrounds, and many different challenges. The students in my classroom have shown academic talent in their classrooms and join me one day a week for rigorous content, problem-solving and open-ended projects. Each day of the week, I see a different grade level, so students often share ideas, build on each others work and form relationships across grade levels. As our school grows and our scholars learn, we are trying our best to prepare them for future careers in a variety of fields. Using technology to develop their interests and keep them learning is a way to reach all of my learners where they are and show them the wide world of possibilities out there. APS CLL Grow. Lead. My vision is to have students document their learning during and at the end of learning units in self-chosen ways such as infographics, videos, stop-motion animation, digital stories and learning graphics. I see students that learn to use technology in ways that make their learning visible and help them to be technology leaders in our school. I am requesting an iPad for our classroom so that students can showcase their learning using apps such as iMotion, iMovie, Kodable, Tellagami and SimpleMind. (I'm also requesting a case so that students can use the iPad safely inside and outside of the classroom.) Each unit, I will teach the use of at least 1 program or skills so that students are empowered to choose how they demonstrate their knowledge. The projects will then be showcased inside and outside of the classroom in displays, at meetings and through our school's website.
In our school system, there is a strong focus on preparing students for college and career readiness.
This project guides learners to this goal in a motivated, future-focused way. They will learn new skills, have the ability to practice them and then, most importantly, will have a way of sharing their developing knowledge with others. Donors to this project will open students to many new possibilities now and in their futures. APS CLL Grow. Lead. Transform mini-grants.
