My Students
If you stepped foot into my classroom, you would see a class of student-sponges who are eager to learn. They are curious, fun-loving, quick to laugh, and with just a little dose of sass. They enjoy a good debate and thrive on a good challenge. They attack difficult material with a vigor I haven't seen in many of the buildings in which I have taught. They constantly make me laugh and inspire me every day with their grit and willingness to challenge themselves.
My Project
o prepare them to play a role in an ever-changing future, my students will be participating in book clubs focusing on the theme of Social Justice. I want my students to understand multiple viewpoints so they are able to make educated decisions as they enter a world in need of growth and advocacy for all.
It is important our students learn how to have a voice in social change.
I am asking for multiple copies of four books. These books will allow them to take a step into someone else's shoes. To learn about other perspectives before they will be forced to decide our future. The titles I have selected focus on relevant issues in our news every day as well as having notoriety for being well-written and engaging.
