My Students
My students live in the middle of Georgia in a small town. In our school we have a diverse population of students from all backgrounds and socioeconomic classes.
My students are curious, eager learners who enjoy learning through hands on experiences and relevant teaching.
In my class, I conduct a lot of labs and inquiry based learning to teach key concepts in Science and Social Studies. I feel they are able to learn so much more through this type of teaching than they ever could learn in a book.
My Project
Recently I was given a subscription to an online e-book library. There are hundreds of titles that my students are excited to read! I would like to provide them with the opportunity to do their independent reading using Kindle Fire tablets.
My students are 21st century learners who are motivated by technology.
I am always trying to find innovative ways to get my students interested in reading. The Kindle Fire tablets can also be used for a variety of other purposes, including learning apps and one of our favorites - the self checking QR Reader! As I teach the next generation of learners, I hope to be able to provide them with resources that engage, ignite and create excitement for literacy.
