Currently, I have 26 curious 2nd graders in a diverse, urban, Title I elementary school in Lancaster, PA. Many of my students are English language learners, and over 90% of my students receive free and/or reduced-price lunch.
My Second Graders are eager to learn every day despite the difficult challenges they face daily.
We have a safe learning environment where my students know that I believe in them. They know I want them to be successful in all they do. I'm extremely proud of how my students are always trying their best to be successful.
Our district's goal is to prepare our students to be life long learners.
My Project
Dot and Dash are educational robots that can be used in numerous ways in the classroom! The students that I work with are very excited about learning and curious about the world around them (especially anything involving STEM). These robots will help my students learn more about the world around through problem solving. Students will code what the robots should do and experiment to see if they are right. My students love educational technology and it is one of my passions as an educator. I love being able to use technology to supplement and enhance my teaching experiences with my students. These robots will help me be able to do this for my students! We will be able to use the robots in a multitude of ways including programming the robots to: make music, run around the room, move through an obstacle course, lift things, and more. All of these experiences will help my students gain more Common Core State Standard skills and create life long learners.
Your donation will help my students see what the power of coding, math, science and other STEM activities can do.
My students will be able to gain experiences that normally only older students gain access too. I'm very excited to use these robots in my classroom and thank you in advance for your donations!
