My Students

"Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are." (Mason Cooley) I am lucky enough to have a wonderful group of fourth graders who love reading. Their favorite part of ELA was always when we got to relax and read! At the beginning of the school year we read Island of the Blue Dolphins as a whole class and they absolutely loved it. They loved it so much, that they begged to read the sequel, Zia. I'd love for them to have that opportunity!

My Project

My students have been looking forward to hearing this book read aloud to them all year. However, with the school closures and moving to online learning, the only way that is possible is if they each have their own copy of the book. My students are already missing out on so much. They're missing out on their field trips, fourth grade graduation, field day, and many other fun activities. Reading Zia is the one thing they were looking forward to that I can still provide to them. Donating to this project will help my students' love for reading continue to grow!
