With a bit of this and a byte of that, a new window is opened for students who are struggling with reading by putting them in motion. By using a simple computer exercise called, "Moving to Read,(MTR)" for only 10 minutes twice a week, the National Institute of Health has validated a study by Dr. Teri Lawton which demonstrates that,? dyslexic students and others struggling with all aspects of reading make quick and permanent improvements in as little as 15 weeks." "Moving to Read," is a motivational computer exercise which is the essence of the training required to guide the neural timing of magnocellular neurons (affected neurons that are indicated in the disruption of normal reading ability). This non-invasive intervention which hosts NO medical risks is quick to administer and is followed by reading for 15 minutes. I would like to target one 3rd grade class of 20 students which is comprised of struggling readers, and dyslexic students. To date, the students in this class have a very low opinion of their ability to succeed- both individually and as a class. MTR will get these students excited about reading and set them in motion by quickly demonstrating their success, their improved scores, and raising their self-esteem. I am hopeful that you get the notion that this is worthy of your support. I believe that the success of this program and its implications for the long-term/future success of the children outweigh the initial sticker shock.- Thank you.
