I love the diversity that I have in my classroom. I have students from all over the world. The students from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade work on reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The students are excited to be there and are willing to work hard even when something is difficult for them.
Many of the students at my school are on free and reduced lunches. We have students that live in poverty, some in extreme poverty. Many families struggle to cover basic needs.
My Project
Technology is a part of our wold and we are using technology more and more in education. I have six classes a day that need headphones with microphones for interactive software. We have found great progress in reading when we combine interactive software and small group, teacher lead instruction. I have chosen gaming headphones for their noise cancelling qualities and the quality of microphone they have.
"WHAT", "SAY THAT AGAIN", "TEACHER, I CAN'T HEAR"!
These are just some of the words I hear shouted every day, multiple times a day. The kids are frustrated, they can't get enough interactive time on the software to make a difference. We currently have 6 headphones for classes ranging from 8 - 20 students. Of those 6 headphones 2 have jacks that you have to get the plugin "just right" or it won't work, and two others only have one ear that has sound coming out of it. HELP!! We desperately need these!
