My Project

I want to set up my students for success in reading skills! The classroom I was blessed with had very little educational teaching resources for building phonics skills. Phonics skills are the foundation of reading. These skills will also enhance my students' abilities with writing by assisting them with decoding words. The materials chosen will provide my students different ways of learning the individual phonics skills such as vowels, vowel teams, word families, digraphs, blends and affixes in a fun and meaningful way by engaging their senses through touch, hearing, and visuals. These materials can also be used through large group or small group instruction to provide differentiation when needed and accommodate all students. The vowel tubs can be used in small group instruction to help students make connections to the specific sound with a visual object. Each one of my students are unique and these materials can support them when learning each new phonics skill to prepare them with reading and writing.
