Help me give my students new opportunities to use our iPads. I feel that cases are necessary for safety and the stand will allow teachers to send students to the library to record videos for class projects.
Our middle school is a 5th through 8th grade school. We are a Title I school, in a small town just outside of a Gadsden in AL. We are a small middle school with just over 300 students. Our students love to come to the library and checkout books, but my students also want to come and make with their hands.
I have created a new initiative in our library that I call Library Extensions where students can come and work on projects, and inventions.
I am trying to increase the resources that our school's media center has so that I can provide students with hands on projects and activities. I have begun this by offering three permanent work stations where they can make quilts, create art, and build puzzles. Last year I worked with a small group of students who were interested in learning to build a website. I would like to build on their desire to learn using technology by helping my students have access to the creative applications found on the Ipads. I feel that the cases will allow them the freedom to learn.
My Project
Students will now be able to use the iPads independently to work on projects of their choice. Students will be able to use the iPads to create using Apps, coding with the Spheros, and Osmo sets. I am also asking for a stand so that students can create videos.
I have several teachers that are wanting the students to make videos and these would be the perfect tools.
Teachers are able to send students to work in the library on these independent projects. I then work with students on creating their project so that they have choice in how their project is presented. Thanks to these iPad cases and the stand any student in our school can utilize these tools.
