This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Living in a rural community, agriculture is a vital part of our local economy. My students range from 7th through 12th grades who see agriculture around them every day. All 7th and 8th graders will come through my door for a semester each year to learn introductory lessons about agriculture. This allows all students to get a taste of agriculture education before entering high school.

In my classroom, my students learn a broad range of information about agriculture, food, and natural resources.

Through these subjects, my classes teach students a wide variety of skills, including science, math, communications, leadership, management, and technology through hands-on activities and projects.

My Project

Throughout various agricultural courses, as well as the life science courses across the hall, there are various labs and activities that would be so much more successful if we were able to incubate our bacteria cultures. Plus, every year, the agriculture program hatches eggs to add to our school animal science laboratory.

This incubator would be a huge addition to the agriculture and science programs by making our activities that much more meaningful.

Students love using new equipment, and especially if it is realistic for their future careers in this scientific world.
