Help me give my students the chance to read, read and read in school and at home. The Fiction and Nonfiction books would be a great help to prepare them for their journey. Together we can do it.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Please help me to help my students. Ever looked into the eyes of students who were eager to learn but didn't have the tools to do so. Ever wanted to help but you personally ran out of funds to do your part. If this sounds familiar this is the way I feel about my scholars. (students). I am a 2 grade teacher who works in a inner city school where 90% of the students are on Free and/or Reduced lunch.
As I travel this Educational Journey with my scholars I want to them to experience the love of reading.
My scholars have little to no reading materials at home. Often times they are asked to read at least 20 minutes daily to an adult as part of their home learning. Because of them not having books at home to read this makes it very difficult.
To ensure that my scholars received the necessary tools they need to succeed, I'm asking that you partake in Educating Our Future Leaders, by providing take - home books for my students to read at home and also in our Classroom Learning Library.
My Project
If only I had a book. This project consist of reading books for my scholars. The donation would allow them to have books available for home and school. The books were selected at various ages and grade level. Even though my scholars are 2 grade some are reading above, below and at grade level. The books would reach one, teach one and improve on ones reading ability. They will be allowed to take the books home as well as read the books in the classroom library. We are their support system. Together we can do it. I'm Hungry for READING.
