This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a variety of situations and home lives. Most of my students come from low-income households and single family households. As a result, most of them lack a diversity of experiences and opportunities that many others have. hey live in an inner city community and all of my students receive free/reduced lunch.
My Students
I also have several students who receive Title I support in Math and Reading. The majority of my students are African American and Caucasian.
My Project
If you give a class some books......they will share their love of reading with each other and be eternally grateful! Please help me in providing quality picture books and chapter books to my classroom of 3rd graders. These books will add to my growing classroom library, and, as a third grade teacher, I am always wanting to expose my students to more books so that they can have he best reading experience possible. There is no greater joy for a teacher to see that reluctant reader fin that book that they connect with, and they discover the love of reading!
