Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are comprised of Transitional Kindergarten students that like to explore, ask questions, and move. There are currently 14 boys and 4 girls. They are a very active class that needs highly engaging activities to keep them motivated for their best learning. They enjoy learning through play and are very curious. Students like reading, drawing, coloring, painting, and building. They enjoy working in groups as they learn while at school.
My class enjoys learning new things by having hands-on experiences that use all of their senses.
My Project
Young children are creators that are fascinated by shapes, colors, and magnets. The variety of building sets will help me provide open ended learning activities which are vital to helping develop strong math, engineering, and science skills for my Transitional Kindergarten students. Hands-on practice with construction manipulatives allow children to create composite structures in a fun and highly engaging activities. Students will use the sets in a STEM center individually or in collaboration with their peers to create a multitude of imaginative objects. Reasoning and social skills will be developed as students use the materials to construct a variety of structures, vehicles and other machinations. Please help to inspire the future architects and engineers that may be in my classroom today.
