My Students

Tomorrow's leaders need help today. My students come from a rural area where they never know what is next. My students have goals and dreams that always work to the art teacher's advantage. I use my classroom to help them feel comfortable. Because they are so young, we go through a lot of materials. My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous. They make me happy to come to work every single day. No matter what else is going on, my students are my heroes!

My Project

This project is for my special needs students that have physical and mental disabilities that give them trouble holding on to a standard or jumbo crayon.

I have selected different types of molds so I can melt standard crayons into a shape that will allow for different types of grasping points.

This project is a process enrichment aide that will help the special education children be able to participate in the various actives in my art room. I plan to make customized crayon packs for the children with disabilities so they can grasp a crayon where as currently the standard egg crayons, and jumbo crayons are not working for all my students that need modifications.
