If I Grow Professionally, They'll Grow Academically

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every morning we start off with a cheer. Teacher says " Who rocks, who rocks, who rocks?" students reply with "We rock, we rock, we rock!" My students truly do rock. I have an awesome group of students that are consistently thirsty for knowledge. My students are always eager to learn knew things.
My teaching experience has been wonderful and exciting.
I have the privilege of teaching grades kindergarten through sixth grade. I am just about at the end of my third year in my position and everyday has been a new experience for me. I get excited when I am educating students because it is quite evident that they are excited to learn. The joy I get when a student realizes that they have learned a new topic or conquered a difficult concept or task that they struggled with is indescribable. To see a struggling student progress is the greatest teaching experience I could ask for. I also have gained experience being a part of the school leadership team. That experience alone has developed me professionally. It gives me an opportunity to create and receive ideas to better our school. It helps me develop professionally because I am able to pick the minds of veteran teachers and building administrators and take back things learned to my classroom.
My Project
This laptop will allow me to develop professionally through online training and webinars. I will use it to attend training that provide multiple ways to incorporate blended learning into the classroom. This laptop will help to prepare students for the 21st century workplace through blended learning. Blended learning provides the school with a variety of ways to address student needs, differentiate instruction, and provide teachers with data for instructional decision-making. Which ultimately enhances students academics and success. I will use the laptop research best practices to incorporate blended learning procedures into the classroom. I will attend webinars that focus on including blended learning solutions for urban school districts offered through Compass Learning and Michigan Virtual University. We will focus on a few lessons from online learning enhancers for students such as Cool Math, Edmodo, and Renaissance Learning.
This laptop will allow me to further my teaching career through professional development.
I will be able to attend development webinars on a variety of classroom related topics such as classroom management, blended learning, presenting lessons, lesson planning and tons and tons more. In return my students will receive a better education. I will be able to stay current with teaching trends and best practices. My students will be able to grow academically because I've grown professionally.
