Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
There is always anticipation and excitement on the first day of the new school year. Everything is new and exciting for my very young students. My kindergarten students attend school in a very large urban district in Texas where resources are very limited.
My very young students come to school very eager and excited to learn reading, writing, math, and how to get along with others.
It is easy to remember that wonderful feeling of starting school with new friends.
My Project
Imagine this: Big smiles and little fingers discovering and learning new things about their world with the iPad mini. Now imagine this: students who don't know what an iPad mini is. Yes, in 2018 those are my students. They have no access to iPads. They are limited to the traditional ways of learning with paper and pencil, books, flashcards and some computers.
It would be wonderful to have an iPad mini so that they can experience many interactive educational websites.
By having access to these, I can guarantee that this iPad mini will provide them with many many positive independent learning experiences. This iPad mini will help them build their vocabulary, math, reading and writing skills. It will also help with their memory and problem-solving skills, and teach them to seek information using popular search engines. By helping fund this project, you will allow them to experience the amazing capabilities of an iPad that will last them a lifetime.
Your generous donations will make this dream come true for my very young students. The knowledge and skills that they will acquire by using these iPad minis will carry over throughout their school years. You will be helping these very eager learners experience the technology that others assume everyone has access to. Also, thanks to you they will become our high-tech savvy leaders of the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our project.
