The Idea Lab is the emerging makerspace program at Tex Hill MS's Learning Commons. In the Idea Lab, we want to offer all types of activities that engage and explore students' interests and talents, as well as help them discover new ones!
Tex Hill Tigers are a diverse group of students who have diverse interests, but all have one thing in common: they love technology and hands-on learning.
They are active, curious, and tech savvy, and also love to collaborate with each other, from team-based sports to classroom projects and after-school clubs.
My Project
The Little Bits kits will allow the Idea Lab program to offer more hands-on creation experiences for our students who love technology and using their hands. Through using Little Bits in simple task-oriented makerspace stations, students will become inventors without realizing it, using problem-solving, trial-and-error and collaboration seamlessly in an interactive, fun way.
Students who are not in computer programming or robotics classes do not currently get exposure to the kinds of hands-on creation opportunities that Little Bits would provide.
The Idea Lab offers activities for all students regardless of grade or class schedule. Little Bits are a great introduction to the interactive world of inventing with circuits, and would expand what the Idea Lab can offer for all students.
