This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a media specialist at a Title One School in South Carolina, where 83% of students are on free or reduce lunch.

Our school population is made up of 430 students (286 African-American, 9 Hispanic, 18 students two or more races, and 117 students white). Although they enjoy learning, they also enjoy creating things.

My Project

In our school media center, we will incorporate MakerSpace on Fridays. Students will be able to use Magna Tiles, an Osmo, and Goldie Blox to enhance their learning. Students will be able to use an array of activities to enhance their experience with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM Education). To add to the MakerSpace program, I will integrate one activity at a time.

Help our media center add to our MakerSpace program so that students will be able to create with a purpose.

Let's make Play.Passion.Purpose begin at our school! As Albert Einstein once said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun."
