My Students

My 7th graders are excited to hopefully go ice skating! They are an athletic bunch who are also open to trying new things, which I love! Since our school boundaries stretch many miles in all directions from our school, my students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our school population is very diverse! My students ask me all the time- when are we going ice skating Mrs. Keil?? I hope soon when I am asked I can hand them an ice skating permission slip and see them smile!

My Project

Donations will cover the cost of skate rental and skating for approximately 180 7th graders at PJMS in Palmer, Alaska! PJMS is a school with over 40% of students on free or reduced lunches so paying for ice skating might not be an option for many of our families and we want to take all 7 th grade students!! We plan to go skating during the week of April 1st! This experience will allow students to try something new, expose them to a community resource and give them one more skill/experience to help build self-esteem! They will also have a ton of FUN with their peers while being active!!
