How much do YOU love technology!? I am trying to bring that same love into my classroom to motivate my students and expose them to the endless possibilities of technology, as well as use it as an instructional tool to help them be the best readers they can be!
We are a class of 22 heterogeneously grouped second graders in a suburb within New York State.
My class comes from varying socioeconomic statuses, religions, and home environments, but you would never know it. They "jive" together so well and are a true school "family" - caring for one another and helping each other out.
My Project
We need an iPad, headphones, and a strong protective case to protect this amazing tool. Having an iPad in the classroom will allow us to work both as a classroom unit as well as individually throughout the day. Collaboratively, we would research, design, and share projects in programs such as imovie. Individually and in partnerships, we would listen to fluent reading through various apps and build on our love of books and literature.
This project is so important to me.
Not only is the iPad a motivational tool, but it is an educational tool, as well. Technology IS our future and I'd love for my students to have practice using this tool in a variety of ways.
