My Students

My students are creative and energetic kindergartners that love to go, go, go! Our class is a family that supports each other and encourages everyone to reach for the stars. We come together every morning to discuss our feelings and thoughts in an atmosphere where everyone is valued and friendships are strengthened.

Each child in my classroom comes from differing backgrounds, but those differences are embraced through love, trust, and an open-minded outlook.

Though many of my students have barriers such as poverty, language, and inconsistent housing, they choose every day to come to class ready to learn with open minds and hearts. Our classroom allows each student to lead by example so they can light the way for others.

My Project

Our classroom is in need of supplies that will help my students grow through creativity within our IB program. We need a variety of crafting items like construction paper, craft sticks, and pipe cleaners to complete projects for their IB portfolio. These portfolios will travel with them throughout elementary school.

The math manipulatives I have requested will be used every day during math workshop.

The bears are a helpful assessment tool and my students always love to use them to count during their centers. Another item that will be used daily is the write and wipe sleeves. Having the sleeves means that my assistant has more time to work with students instead of running copies, which is a huge asset to the children!

Lastly, the partitions will allow me to assess a greater number of students at one time. My goal is to minimize the amount of time needed to assess so I can maximize the amount of time I get to teach my students everything they need to get them ready for first grade.
