My students need 5 iPads and protective cases to differentiate instruction, deepen understanding, and spark creativity to help them achieve academically!
Innovation, differentiation, and creativity are the main principles that drive my classroom. My 2nd grade students try their best each day and know that the classroom is a place where we grow as a family. Every student is unique and brings their own perspective. My students come from different families, cultures, and experiences. From social behavior and reading foundational skills, to leadership and writing multiple paragraphs, each student in my classroom is working on a goal that is just right for them.
My 2nd grade students thrive in an environment where they have choice and therefore become their own classroom entrepreneur.

My Project
All students are unique and learn in their own way. Using technology regularly in my classroom is one way that I can differentiate, challenge, and give my students choice. I believe paper and pencil are invaluable tools. However, technology is also a critical item in a student’s toolkit to help inspire creativity, excitement, and engage them each day. Currently, I only have 1 computer to support all 24 of my students and need your help!
By funding this project, you will be giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves, explain their thinking, and achieve academically in ways that paper and pencil alone don’t allow.
Students will use iPads with protective cases to take videos, pictures, and record their understanding of any concept on their personal digital journal. This journal, called Seesaw, is also accessible to parents. It helps parents clarify questions on homework and get instant updates on student progress. Students will extend classroom ELA and math instruction on tech resources like Freckle Education. This resource adapts to each student’s instructional level and allows the teacher to assign individualized assignments specific to their academic needs (ex: a challenge or reteach). Apps like iMovie, Keynote, Inspiration and more will be used to make projects to showcase student understanding in creative and innovative ways.
I have a great deal of prior experience working with iPads in the classroom and am confident in my skills to use these devices in order to help my students achieve academically. Your donation will help to inspire creativity and differentiate instruction. I can’t wait to get started!
