Ms. Altrenna Patterson from Rocky Mount NC is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need the digital T Shirt and HAT heat press machines to proudly wear their designs on t-shirts and hats.

My Adobe Visual Design classroom is where futures begin. I have innovative and intelligent high school students who look forward to bringing their designs and ideas to life. We are a public high school in a rural and agricultural area. The students here are low income and bus riders. Maintaining and encouraging their enthusiasm for college and career readiness in the field of Technology Design and Trade and Industry is crucial.
Our motto is "It's not about me, it's not about you, it's about the success of our students."Our high school is one of four in our district with over one thousand students.
My high school is doing everything in its powers to develop our young learners into bold and productive members of society. These students are driven to change the direction of their family and their futures. Some of them will be first generation college students and that will promote the courage and confidence our students need to move forward with their desires to design.
With the resources I'm requesting, my talented students will be able to use the t-shirt and hat heat presses to transfer their own designs to fabric. They will gain the respect of their peers and leaders as trendsetters and talented designers. My school will be able to groom students who have confidence in their skills and understand that their opportunities are endless.
The pride my students will experience by not purchasing someone else's but designing, printing, and wearing their own creations will be game changers.
I am trying to teach my students entrepreneurship and not employment and these supplies will assist my students with proving to themselves that they too have an opportunity to become successful business owners as designers. This is how we can support the dreams of our students.
