This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our elementary school is located in Duquesne City right outside of Pittsburgh, PA. We host students PreK-6th grade how come from various cultural backgrounds. Unfortunately, many of our students live under the poverty line and lack the home experiences that help them succeed at school.
My students love to play, learn, explore, and create!
As their teacher, it's my job to get them ready for Kindergarten but more importantly, make them love school. It's my goal to provide them with all the opportunities possible to give them the best start in school and in life!
My Project
The double sided white boards and mini magic boards will allow my Pre-K students to practice their writing skills on erasable surfaces. Not only will my students use these materials to write their letters, name, shapes, and numbers they will also draw pictures and use their imagination.
My little ones love to explore.
When I allow them to use surfaces to write other than paper excites them to want to learn and try new things. Most of my students have never been in school before, so giving them opportunities to use different materials is meaningful and valuable to their future academic success.
