I Want To Reverse The Epidemic of Inactivity Among Children.

My students need Skillastics Fitness Game designed for grades K to 5, and is approved by the American Council on Exercise. This new game covers four fitness components, including flexibility, cardio/respiratory endurance, strength and muscle endurance.

My Students

We are a Title I School. Over 50% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. We serve a nearby military base so we have students transition in and out frequently. Many of my students also have at least one parent that is currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. My students are Pre-K through 5th grade in a Rural Virginia Elementary school.

Our students come from many different backgrounds but most LOVE PE class.

It is a place where they can release loads of energy and have fun while learning livelong fitness skills. For some of our students PE class is the only exercise they will get on a given day due to busy and hectic after school schedules with their families.

My Project

All students want to be fit but some need more guidance than others. Sometimes they just need a fun group activity to get them moving. We need the Skillastic Game that will help us get a large number of students moving in a fun and safe way. This game covers all four of the fitness components and would really help our students to MOVE. This Fitness Game follows NASPE Guidelines and is ideal for all of the students that I teach. Childhood obesity is on the rise in the United States and it is my goal to show a decline at North Elementary.
