I Want to Bring Some Chrome to My Kindergarten Home!
My students need Chromebooks. Students connect better to their learning when digital technology is incorporated. Digital learning technologies can enable students to grasp many concepts.
I have nineteen wonderful kindergartners! I have had the privilege of teaching them for the past semester. They are smart, loving, and precious. This class wants to learn new things. They love technology. They want each of their classmates to do their very best. I have taught kindergarten for twenty-three years, and each class inspires me to be a better teacher and person.
My class has many military students whose parents are retired military and are still serving in other capacities.
Creekside is 17 miles from Redstone Arsenal. Redstone Arsenal is an Army post which houses US Army Material Command, Army’s Aviation and Missile Command, the Missile Defense Agency of the Department of Defense, and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Technology is very important to these divisions. Technology will also play a vital role in my students’ future.
My students love technology. They come from various social and economic backgrounds. Unfortunately, some of my students have not been exposed to technology. When we are able to use any type of technology or device at school, my students totally light up and become very excited. As a teacher who wants to offer the very best educational experience for my students, I would cherish the opportunity of providing my students with more technology to use in our classroom.
My Project
The three Chromebooks that I have requested will help my students increase their educational experiences through the use technology, such as: Google Slides, Google Docs, QR Codes, and other apps to allow the children to work both collaboratively and independently.
My students would absolutely enjoy using Chromebooks for many different education activities!
These Chromebooks will also enable my students to use previously purchased materials from the Teachers Pay Teachers website more efficiently.
The kindergarten students in my classroom thoroughly enjoy using QR Codes to read and to listen to stories. Any time students can be engaged in the reading process, it entirely beneficial to their learning. I would love to have the opportunity for my students to have these Chromebooks added to our classroom!
