Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our bilingual classroom is full of very creative and hard-working students who are curious about the world and are self-motivated learners!
At our school and in our classroom, our vision is to create a multicultural community that will prepare and educate ALL students to be self-motivated, independent, life-long learners who are leaders impacting change for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Ninety-five percent of our students come from low-income households with 52% of our school identifying as Latino and 47% are African-American. Eleven percent are English Language Learners which make up a large part of our classroom. My kids are passionate and creative who love to curl up with a book and be transported into different worlds, from that of Pete the Cat to the Pyrenees Mountains.
My Project
We need ink for our classroom to be able to print in color our writing, work, and materials for centers! The reason I am asking for printer ink cartridges is so that we can print materials in color which will also help support my ELs with their English language development.
We will be able to have colorful matching word cards, vibrant math 10 block cards, and more which will keep students engaged as well as hold their attention.
In addition, students will be able to publish, print and display their finished writing products both in and outside of the classroom. The majority of my students do not have access to a printer at home and this would help them meet the demands of a modern classroom.
