Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching is a difficult job but, the ultimate reward is knowing that you have the opportunity to have an impact on a young person’s life. What I enjoy most about my students is that each and everyone of them come from different backgrounds, home situations and each and everyone of them come ready to learn each day with enthusiasm.
My students are very energetic and eager to learn!
They have their own unique personalities making them fun and interesting to work with and get to know. They are very energetic and expressive when learning about new topics, voicing their options and diving in deep. My class is amazing to work with and makes learning fun!!
My Project
Reading is important because it helps in developing the mind. Understanding the written word helps the mind grow and develop. Teaching young children to read helps them develop their language skills. It also helps them learn to be active readers.
"A reader lives a thousand lives."
One of the books we read as a class is "I Survived the Great Chicago Fire, 1871". I normally read the book aloud to the students as they listen to the story. However, it becomes hards for the students recall some of the events because there is only one book. So I would like to get a class set of the book so students can follow along and use the book to answer questions and look for things like text evidence. This class set would be a great addition to our classroom!
