My Project

As an inner-city school librarian, I served various students in grades pre-k-5 with very little district funding!

My biggest goal this year is to fill our shelves in our brand new 21st-century building with favorites for all ages with enough copies to allow more than one student to enjoy each title at a time!

Last year we made great strides in filling our shelves with all of our favorite characters. This year we are focusing on nonfiction and historical events!

Graphic Novels/Manga are a massive hit amongst students of all ages! The comic book format is engaging and enticing and encourages even the most reluctant readers to read! By introducing history through the graphic novel format students are hooked by the engaging format they love and captivated by the stories! I've also thrown some Titanic books into this project because my third through fifth graders are BEGGING to learn more about that historical event! Thank you for supporting our love of reading and history!
