I have the best job in the world! Each day I face 80, 11 year old students and see the potential within each and every one a potential that inspires me to find ways to ignite their passion for learning!
The creative energy of my students is limitless.
They imagine solutions to problems in ways I couldn't have possibly anticipated. I always challenge myself to find ways to harness their interests and passions into relevant, educational experiences that will inspire ALL of us.
In our digital world we are creating learners that need to be prepared for the jobs of the future. STEM experiences such as 3D Design, 3D Modeling and engineering go a long way in making that future a reality TODAY!!
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are all critical components of a classroom. In this project I am requesting supplies, such as digital circuit boards, and materials such as clipboards and post-it notes, to support project based and inquiry based learning related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the classroom.
In our room you'll see engaged students, involved in self-driven projects that revolve around STEM principles.
The Dremel filament for the printer, motors, batteries and Makey Makey circuit boards I'm requesting in this grant have specifically been chosen to support STEM initiatives. Students will practice the engineering and design process. They'll be able to observe and record their observations using the clipboards, stickers, plastic signs, scissors and Samsung SD Card I've requested. Specifically, a maple tapping project is part of this initiative to get students integrating STEM with outdoor exploration. These initiatives that go well beyond traditional curriculum and enhance learning in so many ways! By providing and promoting STEM, students will be exposed to potential jobs and skills that will inspire them and carry them well into the future.
